Here’s a rag-tag bunch of reviews I’ve put together over the however-long, some of which have been taken from my Goodreads page and smartened up a bit. It should give you a rough idea of the kind of stuff I pore over.

Hi Lucian. My parents have been doing the (Saturday) Times Cryptic Jumbo crossword now for a few years now. They’re pretty good at it but don’t always finish it and I’ve recently been sharing your answers with them each Friday to see if they’re all correct. I’d not seen it before but yesterday, I noticed that you state a certain number of minutes at the top of each page’s solutions eg. No. 1580 – 10 minutes. What does this mean? Is it the amount of time it took you to complete the crossword? I told my parents this but they said that it couldn’t be but I’m not sure. They love doing the crossword but they do it over the whole week and really enjoy reading your workings out to answers, especially if they didn’t get them.
Thanks, Tom! That’s nice to hear. I’m glad they like the posts. The time at the top of each one is WordPress’s estimate of how long it would take on average to read. It’s something that came with the layout template, but I’ve not found a way to switch it off. I’d say on average a Jumbo will take me 2-4 hours to complete. Anything longer than that I then deem a toughie or a stinker. Cheers! – LP
